WeWork Announces Five Dallas Finalists for Creator Awards

Along with approximately 30 others, the finalists will present in front a live audience at ACL Live in Austin on June 27 to compete for a range of financial awards.

Five Dallasites will compete for up to $360,000 in cash prizes at the upcoming WeWork Creator Awards South Regional Final.

Along with approximately 30 others, the finalists will present in front a live audience at ACL Live in Austin on June 27 to compete for a range of financial awards.

New York-based coworking company WeWork, which has locations in the Dallas area, created this program to support entrepreneurs, small businesses, growing companies, nonprofits, and artists.

One of the Dallas finalists, The Human Impact, is dedicated to helping the homeless in South Dallas. Another turns parking lot cameras into real-time data collection devices that can aid drivers in finding spaces and help operators better manage their lots.

The Human Impact Co-founder Elisabeth Jordan told WeWork that the financial rewards could support more staff members and possibly expansion into other cities.

“It’s an amazing opportunity to go before a panel of judges and share what we do,” Jordan said in a release. “I think it’s genius of WeWork to offer this opportunity to companies and organizations wanting to grow, and I am just thrilled to be a part of the group of finalists.”
