Why Universal Mind Knows Dallas is the Place to be in September

From Big Design to "An Evening of Innovation," there are a number of events to put on your calendar in September.

Universal Mind

We all know that Dallas is a bustling and happening place. That’s part of the reason why we were initially attracted to the region. But, in the year or so Universal Mind has been in the area, the attraction has only deepened, strengthened by the relationships formed and forged and opportunities offered and accepted. And the month of September is ripe with opportunity!

Addison will play host to Big Design, a conference designed to provide UX and usability professionals, digital marketers, designers, content specialists and developers

On Sept. 8 through Sept. 10, the Crowne Plaza in Addison will play host to Big Design, a conference designed to provide UX and usability professionals, digital marketers, designers, content specialists and developers with additional tools and resources to excel in their respective fields.

More than 80 different speakers will take the stage, presenting to the estimated crowd of 1,000 attendees, on topics such as the “Zen of UX,” rapid prototyping, design and customer experience and more.

Of the many speakers addressing the conference, Universal Mind is proud to have several experts take the stage. Jesslyn Beattie, UX director, is slated to present “The Language of Leadership” at 11 a.m., June 9 in the Trinity Ballroom, and will explore how to cultivate leadership abilities, expand one’s sphere of influence and speak the ‘language of leadership.’

On Sept. 10, Shelley Staten, director of Agile Services and Matt Portering, UX Specialist are slated to present “How UX Fits in a Scaled Agile Framework” at 3 p.m. in the Addison Lecture Hall. Attendees will learn how tying SAFe to UX can break silos, empower individuals and create software at a repeatable rapid pace while ensuring the entire team is driving toward and delivering on one main goal.

Universal Mind also is hosting a Happy Hour on Sept. 9 for attendees of Big Design, in the Sycamore Room and Patio of the Crowne Plaza to celebrate the conclusion of the first day of the conference. Guests will have the chance to connect with event speakers, authors, VIPs and make new connections while enjoying some great conversation, complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

Afterward, Big Design attendees will have the chance to check out the ExposeUX Premiere in the Trinity Ballroom. What a way to kick off the month!

On Sept. 21, Universal Mind is proud to host “An Evening of Innovation: Universal Mind Welcomes You to the West End.”

But, that’s not all … On Sept. 21, Universal Mind is proud to host “An Evening of Innovation: Universal Mind Welcomes You to the West End,” an invitation only event showcasing their new Dallas office, located at 302 N. Market Street.

“‘An Evening of Innovation’ embodies our company DNA” explains Andrew Sevin, VP of Client Services. “Our approach to business and our commitment to working with a variety of Dallas-based partners is driven by the collective desire to continuously innovate. Having an opportunity to open our doors and welcome our partners and friends will hopefully further our shared understanding of how so many are contributing to making Dallas the innovative and thriving place it is.”

Throughout their first year in Dallas, Universal Mind has sponsored several events, such as the recent “Building a City of Innovation” event, and has hosted workshops at their office and at conferences such as the TIA, Big Design and more.

Further, they have built collaborative partnerships with local groups such as Dallas Innovates, CXPA, Ladies that UX, and CreativeMornings to cultivate community while also giving back to educational organizations in the area. Universal Mind firmly believes that such endeavors and relationships will contribute toward both the business and overall betterment of the greater Dallas region.
