Deep Vellum owner and Dallas-based publisher Will Evans and film producer Dallas Sonnier are teaming up to bring something new to lovers of a good story.

The pair has formed a new company, Cinestate, that they hope will take the best in audio, books and film to a new audience.

“We realized in the few minutes we shared a vision of taking awesome stories, books, and movies and getting them in front of as many people as possible,” Evans told CultureMap Dallas.

A casual meeting through mutual friends bought the pair together and the Cinestate partnership was formed, CultureMap reported.

CINESTATE BEGINS ITS FIRST PROJECT

“I don’t know the first thing about book publishing, but I have sold several books of my clients when I was a manager in Los Angeles, and I felt there was a disconnect between the book publishers and movie producers,” Sonnier told CultureMap. “There was no reason they shouldn’t be working together to boost the story audience.”

Cinestate’s first project is the release of what the partners call an “Audiostate” of the book The Narrow Caves. It will be distributed through Audible.com and Amazon, CultureMap reported.

The pair said an Audiostate is like an “ear movie” that they hope will set a new standard in the entertainment world.
