The Juilliard School in New York City is very exclusive and only accepts 12 male and 12 female dance students from around the world into its dance program each year.

Tuesday, the school announced that five of the male dancers are from Dallas ISD’s Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

In 2014, five Booker T. Washington students were accepted by Juilliard — four dancers and a theater student, the newspaper said.

Booker T. Washington will celebrate its 40th anniversary as a magnet school with a performance 7 p.m. May 15 at Winspear Opera House.

And, the alumni art exhibit and reception will be held at 6 p.m. that day at the Hudson Gallery at 2501 Flora St.
