IDEA Works FW Director Hayden Blackburn will take on the assistant director role at TECH Fort Worth on Dec. 1, according to Fort Worth Business Press

“I have been impressed with Hayden’s work at Idea Works. He has a lot of experience in the entrepreneurial community in Fort Worth and will be a great addition to our team, allowing us to continue to improve and expand our services for technology-based companies in North Texas,” Executive Director of TECH Fort Worth Darlene Boudreaux told Fort Worth Business Press

Blackburn helped launch the multi-industry incubator, IDEA Works FW, in 2014 as a partnership between the city of Fort Worth and the BAC Education Foundation to boost the support ecosystem for entrepreneurs.

“The power of empowered citizens having a vision for filling gaps in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, paired with the city of Fort Worth’s openness to collaborate and support local people in solving local problems, is something that will continue to inspire me throughout my career,” Blackburn told Dallas Innovates in June.

In his new position with TECH Fort Worth, Blackburn will help establish a new mentorship program and run the day-to-day operations of the Cowtown Angels, an angel investor network program of TECH Fort Worth.

“Now that we have filled the infrastructure gaps with a mixed-industry incubator and entrepreneur development center, as well as launching new events, it is time to start strengthening our community’s resources and offerings for doers, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Moving over to TECH FW is an exciting step in that goal,” Blackburn told Fort Worth Business Press.
