EY Honors RSP Permian CEO with Entrepreneur Award

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year award is now in it 39th year.

Steve Gray, CEO and co-founder of Dallas-based RSP Permian Inc., recently received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 National Award in the Energy, Cleantech, and Natural Resources category.

“I am truly humbled to receive this award, and do so on behalf of my fellow founding partners and the entire RSP team. This achievement reflects our collective vision and hard work,” Gray said in a release. “Together we’ve grown a $180 million initial investment from Natural Gas Partners to a NYSE-listed, $5+ billion market cap company.”

Gray was one of 11 category winners selected by a panel of independent judges. The prestigious awards competition, now in its 30th year, received more than 1,700 applicants nationwide.

“We’ve developed a culture that values innovation and continual improvement, and we’ll continue to work to deliver value to our shareholders and community as we develop our world-class assets in the Permian Basin,” Gray added.

The awards were presented Nov. 19 at EY’s Strategic Growth Forum in Palm Springs, California.  

With the award, EY (Ernst & Young) honors entrepreneurs whose spirit of innovation, ingenuity, and discipline have fueled their companies’ success, boosted their industries and who have benefited their communities.

RSP is an independent oil and natural gas company that focuses on acquisition, exploration, development, and production of unconventional oil and associated liquids-rich natural gas reserves in the Permian Basin region of west Texas.

EY is a global assurance, tax, transaction, and advisory services company. Its EY Entrepreneur of the Year award is one of the world’s most prestigious business awards for entrepreneurs.
