Dallas Vegan City

Everything’s bigger in Texas: the blue skies, our legendary state fair, and even our vegan presence.

Vegan news magazine, VegNews, has named Dallas as one of the top vegan-friendly cities in the U.S.. Measured by cities’ flavors, fashion, and culture, the magazine ranked the top 10 cities. Dallas came in at No. 8 on the list.

While this fresh news may come as a surprise, Dallas is home to Texas Veggie Fair, the state’s largest festival dedicated to all things veggie, and has an array of eccentric, plant-based restaurants. Among the best-listed spots are Spiral DinerEl Palote Panadería, and V-Eats Modern Vegan.

“Dallas is an ever-changing city, but, thankfully, the big hearts of the many dedicated animal advocates here remain a constant who help push the city to become more vegan-friendly all the time.”

“What’s big about the vegan options in Dallas is the variety — diners, pubs, pizzerias, raw, Mexican, Indian, and Vietnamese,” wrote Jamey Scott for VegNews.

Scott, founder of DallasVegan.com and Texas Veggie Fair, even suggested a new moniker for the city.

“Thanks to an array of plant-based options, the Big D might want to consider changing its name to the Big V,” Scott wrote.

The magazine applauded Dallas for its animal-friendly cowboy attire. At Kat Mendenhall Boots, people can purchase Texan treasures made without harmful animal products.

“Dallas is an ever-changing city, but, thankfully, the big hearts of the many dedicated animal advocates here remain a constant who help push the city to become more vegan-friendly all the time,” wrote VegNews.
