A couple from Dallas was chosen to pitch their design on television March 13 as part of HSN’s Project American Dream initiative.

James and Kathryn Smith co-created the Giraffe Razor Extension Handle, which offers a solution to those with limited mobility.

James and Kathryn Smith are one of five applicants out of more than 100 hopefuls who were selected to debut their product on national television through the HSN Project American Dream initiative.

HSN, a leading entertainment and lifestyle retailer that reaches 92 million homes in the country, partnered with Dream Ventures creator Liliana “Lili” Gil Valletta and “TV’s Billion Dollar Man”, Bob Circosta, to create Project American Dream.

The project is part of HSN’s American Dreams program and was created to search for new and innovative products that were designed by Latino/a entrepreneurs and introduce them to new markets.

The Dallas natives co-created the Giraffe Razor Extension Handle, which offers a solution to those with limited mobility. The design adds 15 to 20 inches to a razor handle and has a pivoting head that makes it easy for anyone to use.

The five finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their products at 6 p.m. March 13 on The Monday Night Show with Adam Freeman

The program sponsor, U.S. Bank, has been providing mentorship for each finalist and will sponsor the winners for a chance to attend the Stanford Latino Entrepreneur Leaders Program, which consists of an immersive six-week program to grow the contestant’s business.
