THURSDAY, AUG. 11
DOWNTOWN PLANO ART & WINE WALK — 5 to 9 p.m at 1013 E. 15th St., in Plano. Start off your weekend and “Wine Down” with this month’s wined-theme event. Sample from 17 different locations in the Arts District while listening to performers Isaac Tauaefa and Benton Lawson in McCall Plaza. Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. TRIVIA ON THE PATIO — 7:30 p.m. at West Irving Library Patio, 4444 W. Rochelle Road, in Irving. Test your knowledge on a variety of topics, from history to pop culture, against local trivia lovers. The event takes place every other Thursday night, and participants must be ages 16 or older.
FRIDAY, AUG. 12
WALKING CONNECTIONS — Walk begins at 2 p.m. at Bank of America Plaza, 901 Main St., in Dallas. Explore the Main Street District with a walking tour hosted by Downtown Dallas Inc. on the second Friday of each month. Each month focuses on a different area of downtown and encourages participants to debrief and discuss ideas after. Following the walk, there will be a complimentary happy hour from 4 to 5 p.m.
MOVIES IN THE PARK — 8:30 p.m. at Klyde Warren Park, 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, in Dallas. Enjoy a summer night at this free screening of the family-friendly movie, Iron Man.
SATURDAY, AUG. 13
DALLAS CAT CAFE — 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cat Connection, 14233 Inwood Road, in Dallas. Cat lovers won’t want to miss this final pop-up event of the Dallas Cat Cafe monthly summer series. BUTTERFLIES AND BUGS FAMILY FESTIVAL — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Texas Discovery Gardens, 3601 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., in Dallas. This annual celebration is geared toward insect-lovers of all ages.
