Axxess Testing App That ‘Uberizes’ Home Health

Axxess says the app is the first and only native mobile app of its kind, connecting home-health agencies with qualified clinicians.

Dallas-based technology company Axxess is testing a new app that it says “Uberizes” the process of connecting home-health agencies with qualified clinicians to provide care all day, anywhere.

Called AxxessCare, the app is integrated with AgencyCore, the company’s secure HIPAA-compliant software platform. Axxess said the app is the first and only native mobile app of its kind in the sector.

Over the next few months, the app will be tested with agencies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area before it is released nationally, the company announced Wednesday.

“We’re confident AxxessCARE is going to revolutionize the delivery of home health care in the same way Uber has transformed the transportation industry,” John Olajide, president and CEO of Axxess, said in a release.

“Through AxxessCARE they will be able to extend their staffing capabilities with access to qualified clinicians to meet patient needs.”

He said that agencies regularly identify staffing as one of their major challenges.

“Through AxxessCARE they will be able to extend their staffing capabilities with access to qualified clinicians to meet patient needs,” he said. “At the same time, clinicians will enjoy a more convenient way to work.”

Here’s how it works:

Clinician profiles, competencies, expertise, availability, and ratings can be viewed by agencies at any time via the AxxessCARE program, and agencies then can communicate with interested clinicians, post visits, and coordinate care in real time.

AxxessCARE’s electronic visit verification feature can assist agencies in determining when visits are complete so that the agencies can review documentation, process payments, and rate performance.

“With AxxessCARE, agencies can grow their business by accepting more referrals, testing new markets and, most importantly, matching qualified clinicians with patient needs,” Olajide said.

AXXESS HAS COMPLETE SUITE OF CLOUD-BASED SOFTWARE, SERVICES

The app can be downloaded in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Axxess technologies assist two million patients in North America and are used by more than 7,000 organizations, the company said. It offers a complete suite of cloud-based software and services for health records, scheduling, patient engagement, revenue cycle management, among other applications.
